Wellington Lifestyle Photographer – Eat My Lunch – Fundraiser Portrait Session

Last month, I hosted a weekend of portrait sessions at Twig and Arrow’s studio as a way of giving back to the community. My heart is so full looking at these images because these are the families who believed in our cause and donated so generously.
With their donations, we were able to buy 900 packed lunches from Eat My Lunch and give them to children in the country, who would otherwise go to school without. I am really blown away and beyond grateful.

And of course this wouldn’t have been successful without the support from these amazing people.

Two Thousand And Sixteen

Can you believe it’s the last day of 2016?
I can honestly still remember what we did on the first of January this year and now it’s the 31st of December already!

This year has been really good to us personally and professionally, but just like with everyone else we’ve also had to deal with disappointments and frustrations.

This year, what I personally tried my hardest to do was to be grateful for everything and everyone in my life.
I know it is a cliché, but sometimes it’s hard to see what you have when you’re constantly comparing.
I think I’m getting better at it, I really do believe that a grateful heart is a happy heart.

May we all strive to become a better us in 2017!
And here are some photos from our 2016.

Love always,

New Zealand Wedding Photographer – Behold – Collaboration Shoot

This shoot has been featured over on Paper & Lace but I also wanted to post the photos here because they’re just too beautiful not to share in my own ‘home’.

I love collaborating with vendors in the industry.
This shoot took us just a little over a week to prepare, but I knew it would come out perfectly even with so little time because I was working with some of the best in the industry.
When I told Mindy, the genius behind Twig & Arrow, that I wanted something soft and romantic she knew exactly what to give me.
I am always so inspired by people I work with and so humbled that they always find the time to collaborate despite their crazy schedule.

Here’s the list of the awesome people who made this shoot possible:

Florals & Styling: Twig & Arrow
Location: Twig & Arrow Studio
Makeup: The Leo Style
Hair: Teagan Steed of Scout Hairdressing
Cake: Stiletto Studio
Model: Izzy Westerhuis from Kirsty Bunny Models
Dresses: ‘Ash’ and ‘Arrow’ Rue De Seine from Paperswan Bride

Destination Wedding Photographer | Film Photography

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
— Ansel Adams

Last year, I started dabbling with film photography. There’s  so much excitement in just documenting without knowing what the outcome will be.
I’ve really been enjoying rethinking and refocusing before pressing the shutter, and I know there is still a lot to learn but I thought I’d show you some of the images that we took with our film camera during our trip.

To infinity and beyond

This post is going to be a letter to my husband, Jay. We don’t usually post cheesy stuff online but I thought today could be an exception because it is after all our 10th wedding anniversary.
So here it goes..

Dear Jay,

Happy big 10th wedding anniversary!
I know the past 10 years have not always been easy and our life is not always about romantic candle light dinners and romance anymore but what I want you to know is that there’s no one else I would rather do life with than you.
I love our chaos and our quiet.

Thank you for always pursuing, dreaming and believing that we can do anything.
Thank you for always being on my side and for making everything feel possible.
Thank you for our everyday and for making our someday come true.

I love us and the life that we have created together and I’m looking forward to doing more of life with you.

I love you, here’s to infinity and beyond!

Love always,
Candy

These beautiful images were taken by my wonderful and talented sister-in-law, Dianna Capco.

Hey Sunshine!

Do you want to know a secret?
Here it is.
I had forgotten about these photos until this morning, when I was trying to organise our personal photos from this year.

These photos were taken in Summer when we were scouting a venue I hadn’t seen before.
My husband loves driving, so whenever we have a free weekend, he will find an excuse to drive somewhere.
Fortunately, there’s something beautiful at every turn in this country of ours.

Here’s our Isabel. It’s been awhile since this gorgeous face has graced my blog.
I’m looking forward to finding more of these photographs in my computer.
